Government of Jordan response to coronavirus, COVID-19
To help businesses overcome the challenges created by this health crisis, the Government of Jordan issued several defense orders for those seeking relief. Read more below.
The Cabinet of Jordan has decided to proclaim the Defense Law Number (13) for the year 1992, taking effect across the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as of 17 March 2020.

Defense Order No. 1 of 2020
On March 19, 2020, the prime minister issued the Defense Order No. 1 of 2020, which includes suspending some provisions of the Social Security Law No. 1 of 2014 and replacing them with this Order. Download the PDF
Defense Order No. 2 of 2020
On March 20, 2020, The prime minister issued Defense Order No. 2 to close all unessential business and declared public holiday starting from March 21, 2020. Download the PDF
Defense Order No. 5 of 2020
On March 30, 2020, The Government announced that all periods and deadlines necessary to take any action with any ministry, government department shall be ceased to apply with defense law no. 5 and is effective from March 18, 2020. Download the PDF

Social Security - Defence Order (9)
Please note that as of May 6, 2020, the Government of Jordan ceased to receive new applications from all working sectors through the social security corporation and hemayeh.jo but will continue to support and accept applications from all sectors who still can’t work or are working partially.
Defense Order No. 10 of 2020
The Government of Jordan issued Defense Order no. 10 which allows entities to defer submission of their tax returns for 2019 to the Income and Sales Tax Department until 30 June 2020. Download the PDF
Central Bank Initiatives to Support Economic Sectors

On March 19th, 2020, the Central Bank of Jordan announced that checks returned for financial reasons for the period March 18, 2020, until March 31, 2020, will not be charged commissions for returning checks. View
